FOURTEEN-POİNTED STAR TECHNIQUES İN ANATOLİA AND A SİNGULAR DESİGN İN SÜLEYMANİYE MOSQUE

Year 2020, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 52 - 62, 22.01.2020

Abstract

This article will be dealing with two different fourteen-pointed star patterns and the formation of a particular implementation containing a fourteen-pointed star, in Anatolia. First two designs are in accordance with the production method introduced by Bonner and Pelletier However the design on the interior ceiling of the Shadırvan in the Suleymaniye mosque does not seem to fit to this method. In the article we will explain the principles of formation for this design in details and the steps to be taken to adjust it to the methodology in the aforementioned article.
